Road trip to Blackpool & Lake District

Well… this place is everything if you are looking for some romantic lake side walks, self boat rides or meditation at temple. It has all of that. Me and my friends decided to take a road trip to Lake District from London. Frankly, we didn’t plan this as such, it was last minute and we don’t regret it 😉

But do not worry if you don’t wanna drive, there are couple of tour companies from London which offer one trips to this place and many other places.
Personally, I think it cannot be covered in a single day, especially if you are planning a holiday in winters (which we did). But in summers, you can give it a try.
We booked an airbnb with hot tub bath , so that we don’t end up just laying down in the living room during those dark winter evenings.

As expected, it was raining , drizzling almost the whole day. So, we headed to Manjushri Kadampa Meditation centre, it’s a Buddhist temple with such positive vibes and meditation experience. There are meditation events planned here always. Just check on their website before heading there if you are interested to experience meditation.

After starting our trip with meditation 🤭 , we spent one entire day at Blackpool. If you love piers, then head to this place without a second thought. If you are planning on summers then even better, you can enjoy beach as well. And then the Blackpool tower, I have always been fascinated by such views. You can purchase the tickets and day pass for attractions online. Don’t worry, if you don’t want to then just walk-in like we did 🙈

After that, we headed to Sizzling Palate, Bolton for dinner, it’s quite far. But if you are a foodie like me.. Then, it’s worth a visit 😃 .. The restaurant is all about sizzlers and trust me, its amazing.

We chose to have a relaxing trip, as the whole point of this trip for us was to get away from the city lights for sometime. But you can also cover all the lakes in a single day.

The next place that we went to was Windermere lake and I just loved this place. Yeah… because I got to ride a boat🤩 .. At a very reasonable price you can hire a boat there. And after that we headed to a pub, very tastefully decorated as it was Christmas and enjoyed some mulled wine.
There are many other beautiful lakes as well: Bassenthwaite lake, Keswick, Coniston water and many others.

Now after all this, our trip came to end 🙁 but while heading back to London, we thought to go to Bicester village (unplanned one), perks of a road trip… right.. 😎
Again, this place is for someone looking to shop. Solely for shopping or you can just wander around. 🙂

Let me know what do you think about this in comments below. 🙂
Stay tuned.
Stay Happy.
As of now, avoid travelling for sometime, stay home stay safe 😊
