Pamukkale is one of the most gorgeous towns in Turkey and definitely a must-visit. The town is known for its white terraces, yes that’s where the name “Pamukkale” is derived from, which means Cotton Castle.

Cleopatra’s pool also known as Pamukkale’s antique pool is a renovated man-made swimming pool that is available to be used by visitors. There are full-service facilities provided including changing rooms, lockers, and bathrooms.
There is a separate entrance fee for swimming in the pool which is TL33 but you are welcome to sit around for free and enjoy food & drinks from nearby restaurants or stalls.
There is a history around this pool, it was destroyed during the earthquake with the temple of Apollo surrounding the place. If you would like to swim around the remains in the pool and get away from the crowd then the best thing to do is to stay in Pamukkale village as the day tours and trippers do not arrive till late afternoon.

It is not only about the thermal spring waters but also the ruins of Hierapolis, originally a greek city, turned into a roman city around 190 BC. The ruins of the city include a well-maintained theatre and remains of the Apollo temple. There is so much to do and explore as a history lover. The museum is another thing to explore and it is amazing as well.

It costs only TL 130 per person which includes a visit to the thermal waters, Antique pool (Cleopatra’s pool), ruins of Hierapolis (including Laodikeia), Temple of Apollo, ancient theatre, and museum.
