Self Isolation… blessing in disguise

We all are going through this self isolation situation right now for the greater good. On one hand it’s a blessing for few (introverts) but on the another hand some of you might be finding it a bit difficult to spend all the time at home. Well, it’s totally on us how we are looking at the situation right now. Let’s throw light on some important points we might have ignored/missed due to panic and stress everyone is going through these days.

We are actually getting to spend some time with our families by being with them. Just accept it, we always keep on asking for a break from our daily routine and spend some time our loved ones but now when we actually have it, we are running away from it. May be because it feels like it is forced upon us by this Virus? We always want the opposite of what we have, typical human behavior.. Right? It also got me thinking that how an invisible thing (infection) has managed to get a change in our lifestyle and got us to value small things we have in our life. It’s like, someone pulling a hand brake suddenly while you were driving your car. That is the feeling we all are getting but let’s get over it together while staying apart and try to make it easy for you and for the people around you. 🙂

First of all, keeping everything aside, hats off to our medical staff, police and each and every person who is helping us pass through this difficult situation. It’s even more difficult for them. So, It’s our responsibility now to make it a bit easier for them and keep staying at home.

Okay… what to do while at home all the time… Of Course, some of you might be working from home but still you have lot of extra time. I am working from home for more than a week now and I ended up making a list of items to do while I am at home and utilize the time. You will not trust me but it is actually not that difficult. Let’s see what all we can do while at home:

  1. If you are a typical 9-5 job person then you might be losing track of your time and ending up working beyond office hours like me. So, Set up alarms according to your office hours and follow it.
  2. Fitness: Do not miss your workout just because all the gyms are closed. Try Yoga, aerobics, zumba at home. Fun + Exercise. Even better if you have open space, go for skipping. There are lots of options. No excuses please.
  3. Sort out your Stuff in your cupboard, which is messed up for quite a long time now and try to get rid of stuff you haven’t used in a while. Also, consider sorting out data in your laptop, mobile.
  4. Connect over video calls with your family or friends with whom you generally don’t get time to do long talks because of your daily routine.
  5. Time to try your hand at Cooking. As we all know, it’s not safe to eat outside and moreover most of the places are shut anyways. So, go ahead it’s time to experiment in your kitchen. Thank God for internet.
  6. During these most uncertain times, try to mediate for some time.
  7. Apart from watching series/movies, you can also go for reading. Yes, of course if you like to read. Coming back to series/movies, trust me there are lots of amazing series which are worth watching right now.
  8. Now at last, if you are a party animal. Then, try out doing a pyjama party over a video conference call with your friends. I have tried it, and it’s super amazing to do that. At least for me. 😀

These are some activities that can help you keep busy and entertained all throughout the day. Let’s hope for the best. Have Faith, keep spreading happiness and not the Virus, do not stress out and please STOP panic shopping. Do not fall prey to fake news over whatsapp. Keep maintaining social distance and we will get over this pandemic soon. Try stay happy and yes SAFE 🙂
