As we all know, Diwali is a festival of Lights. So, the best way to decorate your house is different types of lights, candles, diyas, and the options are endless. But it becomes difficult to decorate traditionally when you are in another country.
If you are also not traveling to India this Diwali like me then do not worry at all. Doesn’t matter where you are, let’s celebrate & decorate your home this Diwali with the same enthusiasm as every year.
Today, I am going to talk about some creative & budget-friendly ideas to decorate your home this Diwali.
- Fairy/ String Lights:
First things First…
These are easily available everywhere and when used in the right places, they will give your house a colorful, bright & beautiful look. We always use these in India to decorate our houses but mostly outside.
What about using these inside your house?
These lights can be used to decorate on multiple occasions. 🤩
NotonTheHighStreet has some amazing and different fairy lights available or you can also visit your local store to grab some lights on budget.
- Candles & Candle Holders:
Using different candle holders is again a great & very easy way to decorate especially in London, where diyas (lamps) aren’t easily available in every store. There are so many different kinds of scented candles and candle holders available in every store like Asda, Tesco, and others.
But yes you can order diyas online from Amazon. I checked out a few & they have a great collection but I feel that a few are a bit overpriced… So, just check it out.
- Pillow & Table covers:
Go for some colorful Table & pillow covers. Pillow covers alone can also give your living room a fusion & ethnic vibe at this festive time.
I loved these at eBay. They are so colorful & totally could go with any Sofas.
But getting a nice table cover is even better to give that vibrant festive look to your living room.
Below are from eBay which I loved.
- Sequin and Tassel Hangings:
These look so enchanting anywhere in your house. I would suggest using these in your Dining area or living room.
You can purchase these online or DIY them at home. All you need is a string and some sparkle paper.
- Dream catcher wall hanging:
These are my favorites. There are so many designs available on Amazon, I was so confused about which one to pick.
You can hang these on bedroom walls, windows, or at your balcony entrance. I just can’t get over these. 😍
Below is from Amazon.
- DIY Jar Lights:
We all have some kind of storage glass jars in our homes. Take any of these, insert some Copper string lights inside, and leave them in your hallway or at your dining table.
The jars give a unique and modern look when used as a decorative item. DIYFormula has so many different DIY ideas for Mason jars.
- Flower Vase and Plants Pot:
Basic and evergreen. There are so many indoor plants available or you can also go for artificial plants & flowers.
If you are looking for cheap plants & flowers, check out local stores like Asda, and Poundland.
To get that festive vibe, go for the metal vase and use pot stands for small pots.
